Is Cycling good for your health

As a teenager we have cycled around a lot with our friends for the fun of cycling. We enjoyed the feel of breeze on our face when we are moving fast. We race with friends to be on the lead.

 

I was fortunate to learn cycling from a good friend of mine, who took me to the school ground and taught me cycling. Unlike these days we did not learn cycling before turning 5 or 6 year old.

 

Fast forward 20 years.. life got busy with studies, work and family and routine exercise was limited to just walks in the parks and some visit to the office gym or games with colleagues. Off course other medical issues also took precedence.

 

Then one day,  when we moved to another country and we were excited at the opportunity of owning a bicycle and cycling around as a family.

Cycling is a healthy exercise?

Yes, it is. It is a low impact exercise compared to many other exercises. It is also a good muscle exercise and it’s an easy exercise unlike other sports which needs skills and practice. Cycling is a fun way to get fit and we can incorporate it into our routine, if time is a constraint.

Cycling for Health

We all know it’s the best to get out and get some fresh air, while cycling, rather than doing indoor exercise. In places where it is not conducive to cycle due to multiple reasons like climate or safety, one can even opt for cycling gym equipment , which is also called as stationary bicycle.
